Eastern Canada Highlights

Day 1 – Toronto Touring

Begin your visit to Toronto with the assistance of a local guide, who will provide an introduction to the city. See the CN Tower, recognised as the tallest free-standing tower in the Americas, and enjoy spectacular views of Toronto and Lake Ontario. Explore the St. Lawrence markets, the Parliament buildings, and several museums located along University Avenue. Additional options for the day include visiting the Waterfront sporting stadiums or heading to Toronto Island for a picnic 


Day 2 – Toronto Exploring

Spend the day discovering the Art Gallery of Ontario on Spadina. Afterwards, visit Yorkville for some shopping and dining experiences.


Day 3 – Toronto to Niagara on The Lake

Travel from Toronto to Niagara on the Lake, a renowned wine-growing district and one of Canada's top wine regions. Collect your rental car downtown near the Royal York Hotel, then drive for approximately two and a half hours along the highway. Stop at some local wineries for lunch. In the late afternoon, return to Niagara on the Lake to explore the main street before checking in at your bed and breakfast, Brockamour.


Day 4 – Niagara Falls

After breakfast, take a short drive to Niagara Falls for a three-to-four-hour visit. Highlights include the Maid of the Mist ferry ride, which takes you under the falls. Consider having an early evening dinner at the Falls and staying to watch the light show before returning to your accommodation in Niagara on the Lake.


Day 5 – Return to Toronto and Train to Ottawa

In the morning, return to Toronto and head to Union Station to catch a late afternoon train to Ottawa. Enjoy a relaxing four-hour ride in coach class, with bar facilities available on board. Upon arrival, transfer to the downtown Lord Elgin Hotel for a two-night stay. The journey is covered by a 3-sector Via Rail Senior Pass, costing $100.


Day 6 – Ottawa Touring

Meet with a local guide for a two-hour orientation. Spend the remainder of the day exploring Parliament House and the National Museum of History, among other attractions.


Day 7 – Ottawa Leisure and Transfer to Montreal

Enjoy one more relaxing day exploring Ottawa at your own pace. Take the opportunity to revisit favourite spots or discover new corners of the city. In the late afternoon, catch the train to Montreal—a comfortable two-hour journey. Upon arrival, settle into your accommodation at Le Square Phillips conveniently located near the train station.


Day 8 – Montreal Guided Exploration

Meet your guide at 10:00 am for a three-hour walking and subway tour, immersing yourself in the vibrant culture and architecture of Montreal. In the afternoon, spend time wandering through old Montreal, appreciating its historic charm and lively streets.


Day 9 – Montreal Sightseeing and Local Cuisine

Continue your exploration of Montreal, including a visit to the impressive Olympic complex. Admire the intricate Gothic-style architecture of the Notre Dame Cathedral, a historic basilica. Afterwards, enjoy panoramic views of the city skyline from the scenic parklands of Mount Royal. The afternoon is free for further discoveries, culminating with dinner at one of Montreal’s renowned restaurants.


Day 10 – Train to Quebec City and Historical Tour

Depart mid-morning by train for approximately two and a half hours to Quebec City, a recognised UNESCO world heritage site. Upon arrival, meet your local guide for a tour of the Plains of Abraham, the site of a pivotal battle between French and English forces in early Canadian history. Visit the Citadel and Parliament buildings, then enjoy a walking tour through the old city, where your accommodation at Au Berge is located. Quebec City stands out for its rich history, with every building in old Quebec telling a story and each square reflecting the spirit of New France.


Day 11 – Free Day in Quebec City

Spend the day freely exploring the charming streets and laneways, admiring ancient buildings, sampling local cuisine, and engaging with the welcoming people of Quebec City.


Day 12 – Departure

Time for one last French-Canadian breakfast – pancakes and maple syrup and bacon? Morning check-out from your hotel or BnB. Transfer to airport for the journey to your next destination.
